The project is a 28-minute documentary related to housing, homelessness, causes and possible solutions to these matters that Public Health has put together called “Voices of Resilience”.
Inspired by an outreach event conducted by Public Health staff in Fall of 2022, it features heartfelt stories of individuals who have lived experience of homelessness who are now housed, sober and thriving members of our community – as well as stories from service providers who work with them and are daily interacting with clients. The feedback received by different types of audiences that watched, such as community leaders, several partners, clients, business owners, WA Department of Health (DOH), WA Department of Commerce, as well providers that were part of the documentary, is that the video brings a powerful message of hope, very needed, specially this time of the year and points towards successful elements that can lead people to an effective transformational process going all the way from A to Z.
