The theatre’s doors will open at 6:30 each night, so patrons can learn more about how to become a foster parent. On both nights the movie will start at 7:30, so theatre guests will have plenty of time to talk with the representatives of the foster care system who will be answering questions and handing out material. They will also be in the lobby after the two hour movie.
On Saturday night Coach Dana LeDuc, who was a coach with the Seattle Seahawks from 1995 to 1998 and the St. Louis and then Los Angeles Rams from 1999 to 2008 will speak before the movie at 7 pm. He is currently volunteering his time and strength/conditioning knowledge with the Hoquiam High School Grizzlies. Coach LeDuc can give the audience insights to NFL football and will also be hosting a question and answer time for the audience to learn more.
Based on the true story of Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy who take in a homeless teenage African-American, Michael Oher. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug addict. Michael has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn. Leigh Anne soon takes charge however, as is her nature, ensuring that the young man has every opportunity to succeed. When he expresses an interest in football, she goes all out to help him, including giving the coach a few ideas on how best to use Michael's skills. They not only provide him with a loving home, but hire a tutor to help him improve his grades to the point where he would qualify for an NCAA Division I athletic scholarship. Michael Oher was the first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL draft.
